Halloween is typically when people wear costumes, but dressing up as someone or something else year-round can be a creative exercise. Just ask Anucha Saengchart, aka Lonelyman. The content creator routinely shares his funny costume ideas on Instagram. Every single pop culture character is game, but there is one unifying thread—they are all low-cost costumes, cleverly executed by whatever he has on hand. Despite the limited budget, it's really amusing to see him nail every single one.

Rather than sharing a detailed video tutorial, Saengchart shares the elaboration process for his costumes in his now-signature four-panel format. Most of the time, you wouldn't guess where his plans will lead to from the first panel, but once you see it all unravel, you'll be surprised by how he can turn household items into completely unexpected props.

Recently, the thrifty cosplayer turned into Aemond Targaryen from House of the Dragon, and it all began with him cooking some noodles. After some quick thinking, the noodles became Aemond's long white hair, and the black ladle served as the eye patch he now wears after Lucerys Velaryon slashed his face with a dagger.

Saengchart's playful imagination also propels him to turn into non-human characters, like Doge, a few Pokémon, and even a KFC chicken thigh. Sometimes, he also recruits his pet cats to join him on his costume mission, which has seen them transformed into Studio Ghibli characters and the Eye of Sauron.

It's a highly relatable situation; there's a commitment we can't miss but for whatever reason, we simply cannot make it. This happened to actor and comedian Hannibal Buress, whose film credits include Spiderman: Homecoming and Spiderman: No Way Home, where he plays Coach Wilson. When he couldn't attend the premiere of the first movie, Buress got creative and found a way to be there…sort of. He hired someone to go in his place.

In a series of now-deleted tweets, Buress wrote that he needed “a lookalike with solid comedic timing for an event tonight.” To sweeten the deal, the actor offered compensation of $500. Despite the short notice, Buress' request was answered by Joe Carroll, an LA-based author, screenwriter, director, and actor. While he doesn't really look like Buress, Carroll got the job.

“When @hannibalburess hits you up and tells you to crash the red carpet since he couldn't make it…. You crash the damn red carpet,” Carroll wrote on Instagram. And crash the red carpet he did. Not only did he confidently pose for selfies with fans, he also answered questions from reporters and was even introduced as Buress by the premiere's official emcee.

Carroll, who wore sunglasses to help conceal his identity, later shared some selfies from the event. Meanwhile, Buress has deleted all mention of his request from his social media, including a tweet where he sarcastically seems to acknowledge the stunt. Overall, it was a success, as no one seemed to notice during the event.

Luckily for the impostor, this was far from his only Hollywood event. Carroll recently shared that he directed his second feature film, Fighting to be Me: The Dwen Curry story, which will soon air on BET. As for Buress, he is in a stand-up comedy tour across the country.

For years James Fridman has been using his Photoshop skills to help people by “fixing” their photos. But Fridman's work isn't what you imagine. By interpreting their requests literally, his results will have you laughing out loud. The ultimate Photoshop “troll,” Fridman now has requests pouring in from people who can't wait to see what he'll come up with.

While the end result isn't always what the person probably imagined when they asked for help, Fridman's interpretations are fascinating. Done in jest, they playfully poke fun at the requests without going overboard. And, as everyone knows what to expect by now, surely the owner of the photo also gets a good laugh.

Fridman's work is so popular that it has netted him millions of fans across social media platforms. In 2021, he even published a book. The Joy of Photoshop: When You Ask the Wrong Guy For Help is filled with his best work and previously unseen images. Since the time of publication, Fridman has continued to bring joy to his fans by posting new Photoshop “fixes.”

One of the most heartwarming aspects of Fridman's work is his responses to certain requests. He's often asked to “fix” the requester's appearance, but if that request concerns weight or another insecurity, Fridman doesn't do what you might think. Rather than use his Photoshop skills, he uses his heart to write a kind response, letting them know that they should embrace themselves for who they are.

Reading this type of response, it's clear why Fridman's work is so popular—he's funny without being malicious and has his heart in the right place. Scroll down to see some of Fridman's most recent Photoshop edits, and follow him on Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) to see what he'll come up with next.

Quitting a job is often an awkward experience. But, it turns out, the whole experience can benefit from a little song and dance. Just ask a man named Phil Sipka. The Chicagoan wanted to quit his job at a coffee shop to open his own spot. To make delivering the news easier, he got help from The Steve Harvey Show, which fixed him up with the a quintet known as The Voices. Together, they delivered a notice for the ages.

The video, which originally aired in 2012, sees Sipka—dressed in a dapper suit and tie—walk in to Robust Coffee Lounge alongside his musical entourage. His bosses, Jake and Derek, are taken aback when Sipka says he's got an announcement to make, but they also look excited at the sight of the group. To their surprise, Sipka announces that he is quitting! The onlooking customers are delighted by the drama and the free show they are getting with their coffee. By the end, Jake and Derek can't help but smile and clap, too.

After this elaborate resignation performance, Sipka made his dream of opening his own coffee shop a reality. Fast forward to over a decade later, and it's still thriving. Kusanya Cafe, in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. But this isn't an ordinary coffee shop. Working as a non-profit, Kusanya hosts community and arts events, and it also offers job training and apprenticeship. “We exist to provide the place where great people can come together over great food, and community-born events can take place,” the company states.

Meanwhile, Sipka continues to be heavily involved with Kusanya Cafe's philanthropic mission—and showing his singing abilities when they host karaoke nights. “We exist for the casual interactions among neighbors, the chance meetings, and the collaboration that happens organically when people are together,” says the team. If you're ever in the Englewood neighborhood of Chicago, you can find them 825 West 69th St.

@rosssmith Gender Reveal Wrestling @Jimbo Hawkins @John Ferguson #genderreveal ♬ The Undertaker Theme – Megaraptor

Gender reveals have quickly become one of the main events ahead the birth of a baby for some people. The premise is simple. A prop, most commonly a cake or a confetti popper—though sometimes even a plane or an entire building—unveils its pink or blue contents to give away the gender of a child. Sometimes it’s just for  the parents-to-be; other times the audience includes extended family and friends. As such, expecting couples have gotten increasingly creative with their gender reveals. For one couple, Grace Smith and Brandon Schoen, announcing the gender of their second baby included a backyard wrestling match.

The fight featured social media stars John Ferguson and Jimbo Hawkins in a blue traditional wrestling singlet and a pair of pink shorts, respectively. Hawkins also sported some pink dye in his hair and beard. The difference in complexions seems to tilt the scale. While Hawkins is tall and broad, Ferguson is a man with dwarfism. Still, like in many entertaining wrestling matches, they rely on wild props and stunts, including glass bottles and hitting each other with a chair to defeat their opponent.

As captured in an entertaining video, the match takes many dramatic turns. Just when the fight seems to be over, they each come back from being knocked out until one doesn't—eliciting cheers from their backyard audience while the victor pops a confetti canon.

The wrestling gender reveal was the brain child of content creator Ross Smith, who happens to be the brother of the pregnant mom. He also played the role of the referee—meaning he was ready to raise the hand of the victor once the struggle was over.

Long before this gender reveal wrestling match, Smith became an internet sensation alongside his grandma, who is known as Gangster Granny. Together, they film wacky videos that ultimately show the deep love between them. Smith's grandmother was also at the gender reveal, ready to give her grandson a high five for such great work.

There are many laws we must all abide by on a daily basis. However, there is sometimes little word on how to follow these rules, and this can open the door to creative possibilities—or even a little fun. Just take a look at what a man named Etienne Constable did to troll the officials who told him he needed to cover his boat from public view. Like a good citizen, he complied by setting up a fence. But the cleverly cheeky man also hired an artist to paint a realistic version of his boat on the fence, creating the illusion that it's still out there in plain sight.

To achieve this, Constable enlisted his friend, visual artist Hanif Wondir. Having painted intricate, large-scale murals around California, Constable knew he was the man for the job. “My neighbor has a sea-faring vessel which he parks on the side of his home,” Wondir wrote on Instagram. “A few weeks ago, he received a letter from the city stating he needed to build a new fence to hide said vessel from view of the street. After reluctantly building the fence and driveway, he presented a sassy idea to me that would require my artistic skills.”

And so, Wondir was tasked with painting exactly what the fence would be covering. The piece was cheekily titled A painting of boat in a driveway next to a house on a fence in front of a boat in a driveway next to a house!—even being listed as such on Wondir's artistic CV.

The mural covers the entire fence on Constable's driveway. With the brilliant combination of perspective and hyperrealism, Wondir makes it look like the boat remains uncovered, even aligning the design with the upper part that inevitably pops out, as the fence is not tall enough to cover it. The artist did a marvelous job, even replicating the bricks from the house and a neighboring bush with careful detail.

“I'm not a rule breaker, but I like to make a political statement as necessary and as well as a humorous statement and a creative statement,” Constable told KSBW. “So, you know, I'm all in favor of generating discussion and making people smile, and the reaction is extremely more than we ever expected, and we're both just tickled about it. It's pretty cool.”

2024 Met Gala Memes That Stole the Spotlight During Fashion’s Biggest Night Out

Many people consider the Met Gala to be “fashion’s biggest night out” or the Super Bowl of fashion. And with any event of this nature and size, comes a wave of commentary on social media. Luckily, a good chunk of it is not only funny, but also really clever. During the 2024 Met Gala, memes poured in throughout the night, as people offered their most memorable takes on the outfits celebrities wore—at times even stealing the spotlight from what was going on on the red carpet.

For the 2024 edition, attendees were asked to dress according to the theme “The Garden of Time,” based on a short story by J.G. Ballard. This concept rang a bell for some film lovers who thought that the flower dress Florence Pugh's character wore in the end of Midsommar, as well as the outfits donned by The Hungers Games’ Effie Trinket and Star Wars‘ Padme Amidala, would have not only stood out, but they would have fit right in with the dress code. “Mother would be mothering,” as some might say.

In turn, users also called out those who treated the gala as if it was any other event. Many were upset that, despite the creative possibilities offered by the theme, many male attendees chose to wear a boring black tuxedo. But even underachievers inspired some hilarious takes. In regards to actor Nicholas Galitzine’s dark suit, a Twitter user wrote, “They told him he had to serve and he thought they meant the tables. His bad y'all.”

Ultimately, some of the funniest memes are those that look inward, reflecting on how we all look judging these impossibly ornate gowns, worn to an evening with a price tag of around $75,000. While some compared themselves to a judging Miranda Presley—a character inspired by the host of the gala herself, Vogue editor Anna Wintour—someone pointed out with a gif that we were all likely in our pajamas, commentating on the event from our beds.

Read some of the funniest tweets about the Met Gala below.

Some world records measure extraordinary feats of strength or perseverance. In fact, we’ve recently seen a 58-year-old woman make history for holding a plank for 4.5 hours straight. Other world records, however, make people wonder why they exist in the first place. One example of this is the “Largest Gathering of People Dressed as Dinosaurs,” which was set in Los Angeles in 2019 with 252 people. But several days ago, a group of over 3,000 dinosaur enthusiasts gathered in Drumheller, Alberta, to break this record.

The only rules that attendees had to follow were that they had to be in a full-body dinosaur costume with the headpiece and body of a dinosaur. Additionally, participants were discouraged from wearing ride-on style dinosaur costumes. Unsurprisingly, having 3,000 people pour into your town dressed in dinosaur costumes certainly creates for interesting visuals, and photos and videos have been popping up all over social media detailing the incredible sight. Thankfully, Drumheller was ready for the crowd of record breakers, and had set up a wide variety of activities for the visitors in their downtown area. These included games as well as live music, and the sight of a crowd of inflatable dinosaur costumes rocking out to local bands is a sight to behold.

Drumheller was chosen as the location of this record-breaking event due to its self-proclaimed status as the “World Capital of Dinosaurs.” This is largely due to the sheer amount of important fossil discoveries that have been made there. The town leans into this reputation, and is home to Royal Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology as well as the “World's Largest Dinosaur,” an 86-foot-tall fiberglass Tyrannosaurus rex statue that is affectionately named Tyra.

In a town full of records, the crowd of 3,000 passionate dinosaur lovers just helped to add yet another one to the books. Even though Guinness has yet to publicly recognize the record, it will certainly be a feat that is remembered by all who participated for a long time to come.

Who can resist a baby animal in distress? Certainly not a well-intentioned English woman, who discovered an abandoned baby hedgehog on a sidewalk one evening. Worried for its safety, this unnamed woman took the tiny critter home and nursed it through the night, before taking it to an animal hospital in the morning. Once she got to the hospital, a startling discovery was made—the hedgehog wasn't a hedgehog at all. Instead, it was a stray pom pom that would normally be found sitting atop a woolen beanie.

The concerned woman had carefully brought the wayward pom pom in its own newspaper-lined box, complete with a small food bowl. As funny as this situation is in hindsight, one can only hope she felt more relief than embarrassment when the veterinary staff at the Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital informed her of her mistake. Luckily, any laughs to be had would be in good fun, and she'd surely join in.

The news story has since made its way to Reddit, with a community of users chiming in. Everyone seems to be supportive of the woman's decision to take care of what she believed was a poor baby animal, no matter how misplaced her concern may have been. One user wrote, “This is hilarious for obvious reasons, but it’s a lovely story that made me smile. The news is so often full of unhappy stories, particularly over the last few years. That this lady’s immediate response was one of kindness and looking out for what she thought was a living thing was heartwarming to me.”

Others noted the similarities between the hedgehog-imposter to the tribble, a fictional fuzzball creature from Star Trek, with one comment saying, “They're saying it's a bobble but it's obviously a tribble… And if we run out of tribbles (pfft, yeah right) we can fool the klingons with bobbles.” And funnily enough, there are actually several crafters who make hedgehog pom poms, making this case of mistaken identity all the more understandable.

An English woman recently made national headlines when she brought an abandoned baby hedgehog to an animal hospital…

She soon found out that the “baby hedgehog” was actually just a fluffy pom pom.

While this case of mistaken identity is undoubtedly a funny one, people online have been praising the woman for doing the right thing, even if it turned out to be a bit of fuzz.

Creative freelancers and people in the advertising industry know all about baseless feedback. What feels like a great and fresh idea is pitched to a client, only for it to be met with negative and unreasonably critical responses that take the soul out of the concept. The Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) is aware that not even the best creators out there are safe from this. Even people like Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo would be met with skepticism had they ever tried their hand at advertising. Two clever videos commissioned by AICP imagine how these two iconic painters would deal with client feedback—something many creatives can relate to.

Directed by O Positive’s Brian Billow and created by agency BBDO, the clips were released ahead of the 2024 AICP Awards deadline of March 12, which is celebrating “museum-worthy” ideas. Fittingly, the winners of the competition will join the film archive of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. These funny ads for the 2024 Awards are aptly captioned with the tagline: “It's hard to make museum-worthy art. It's even harder to make museum-worthy ads.”

The Museum-Worthy video brings contemporary advertising drama to Van Gogh's studio. Dressed up in period clothing, two account executives approach the artist with their biggest smiles to relay the news: “The client loved the painting.” They're talking about The Starry Night, but that's not the end of the feedback. “They just found it a little, um, dark.” They then ask the Dutch artist if he could paint a “sunny day” instead, but keep the title because the client loves it. Of course, this completely changes the concept and the intention behind Van Gogh's work. It seems like an absurdist suggestion…but many creatives, especially those in advertising, can surely relate to this.

The video then makes a shift to 1930s Mexico, and Frida Kahlo is getting comments on her Self-portrait with monkey. Turns out one of the junior clients found the forehead area “off-putting and confrontational,” while the CMO's husband—a foreign entity to the process—simply didn't get it, making it “unrelatable.” Things don't get better for either of them. Van Gogh's painting failed with a focus group—”How can a painting fail?” he asks—so an 19th-century influencer with “a ton of followers” (aka a priest) is brought in. The Focus Group video goes into detail as to what went down with the focus group, who drag the painting in every possible way. Meanwhile, Kahlo gets suggestions for her self-portrait. Why not change the monkey for puppies? “People trust puppies,” says one of the execs, followed by another's supportive “It's proven.”

The whole exchange between the account executives and the creatives is hilarious and spot on. In fact, we dare say they are “museum-worthy.” Scroll down to watch both of these painfully funny videos below.

The Association of Independent Commercial Producers imagined what it'd look like if Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo had to deal with client feedback the way ad creatives do today.

One of their clips shows a period focus group—one of the advertising world's favorite tools—dragging Van Gogh's The Starry Night in every possible way.
