Adorable New Addition to Utah Zoo Is Also World’s Deadliest Cat

Utah's Hogle Zoo introduced an 8-month-old black-footed cat, which has earned the title of “world's deadliest cat” due to its remarkable hunting success rate.

Researchers Find That Cats Have Nearly 300 Different Facial Expressions

Many cat owners are used to their pets communicating through meows and purrs. But beyond these sounds, kitties seem to be aloof, at most blinking or occasionally nudging their ears. However, they are much more expressive than we thought. A recent study found that cats have nearly 300 facial expressions that they use to communicate with other felines—from sweet smirks to hostile hissy faces. Zebby the Support Cat Who “Hears” for Deaf Owner Wins National UK Prize

Cats have a reputation for being aloof and even a little naughty, but one particular feline in the UK is defying these preconceptions. Zebby, a 2-year-old black and white cat, supports his deaf owner by alerting her of noises. If the  phone or the doorbell rings, Zebby taps his human to let her know. Now, this commendable behavior has earned him the Cats Protection's National Cat of the Year award.
